Employment law in the United Arab Emirates
Virtual live course to ensure you have an understanding of the core Labour Law requirements and the practical implementation of the laws and regulations in the region which is essential for those holding people-related responsibilities.
Synopsis
The pace of change in the employment, labour, pensions and immigration sphere in the UAE is fast and dynamic as the nation seeks to continue on its journey to attract foreign direct investment and to diversify its economy. Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021 Regulating Labour Relations (the “Labour Law”), as amended, together with its accompanying Executive Regulations (Cabinet Decision No. 1 of 2022) (“Regulations”) and applicable ministerial orders are the main laws which govern mainland employment relationships in the UAE. Having an understanding of the core Labour Law requirements and the practical implementation of the laws and regulations in the region is essential for those holding people-related responsibilities. This course does not address the employment law regulations in the Dubai International Financial Centre ('DIFC') or the Abu Dhabi General Market ('ADGM'). If you wish to gain an understanding of the employment, pension and immigration regimes which apply in each of the DIFC and ADGM, see our UAE - Employment law in the DIFC and UAE - Employment law in the ADGM virtual courses.
