Has Greece yet fully transposed the requirements of the Pay Transparency Directive? If yes, what was the implementation date and what is the name of the legislation?
No.
If the Pay Transparency Directive has not yet been transposed, what steps have been taken towards implementation?
The Ministry of Labor and Social Security established a working group tasked with drafting a legislative proposal to transpose into national law the Directive. A substantive consultation process with the National Social Partners then followed. On 26 May 2026, the Greek Ministry of Labour and Social Security issued a press release regarding the proposed new law, entitled “Strengthening the application of equal pay between men and women for equal work or work of equal value, and other provisions – Transposition of Directive (EU) 2023/970”, highlighting some of the key requirements of the Directive. Until the draft law is published, there currently remains uncertainty regarding its precise scope and the compliance timeline.
