Progress overview

Status

The President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) is responsible (in cooperation with the Minister of Climate and Environment and the Minister of Development and Technology) for drawing up the draft law implementing Directive 2024/825. In 2024, the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) conducted public pre-consultations on the implementation of the directive.

The draft law has not yet been published, but the assumptions for this new law were announced in August 2025.

Next steps and timing

The adoption of the draft law by the Council of Ministers is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026. However, this date may be subject to change.

Legislative documents

Not yet available.

The changes are to be implemented into national law by amending two existing acts: on counteracting unfair market practices and on consumer rights.

Description

According to the published assumptions, due to the maximum harmonisation introduced by Directive 2024/825, it is not possible to adopt solutions other than those contained therein.
