Current status

The Third Act Amending the Unfair Competition Act, which implements the requirements of the EmpCo, was published in the Federal Law Gazette on February 19, 2026.

Next steps

The new law will come into force on 27 September 2026.

Additional information

The new act amends the Unfair Competition Act (UWG) to implement the new EU rules. The legal implementation aims for a 1:1-transposition into German law.
