Current status

Denmark has implemented the Directive through national legislation, amending the Danish Marketing Act, the Consumer Contracts Act and the Consumer Complaints Act. The implementing Act was adopted on 25 May 2025. Parts of the legislation are already in force, with full application aligned with the EU‑wide application date.

Next steps

Most of the substantive provisions will apply from 27 September 2026, in line with the Directive’s application date. Amendments to the Consumer Complaints Act entered into force earlier, on 1 July 2025.
