Next steps and timing

On 19. 9. 2025, the President of the Chamber of Deputies recommended that the bill be taken up for debate, however, the bill has still not been considered.

Description

The implementation of the ECGT will result in an amendment to Act No. 634/1992 Coll., on Consumer Protection, and will amend Czech Civil Code. The implementation clarifies key concepts such as environmental claims, sustainability, certification, and lifespan, and introduces new rules, including the prohibition of misleading statements regarding repairability.
