Explore the current status of the CER Directive including timelines, transition periods and key national developments.

Current Status: Implemented

Expected or actual implementation date or timeline

CER Act (Act No. 433 of 6 May 2025) entered into force on 1 July 2025. Subsequently amended by Act No. 135 of 27 January 2026.

If implemented, whether a transition period applies and, if so, its duration

No general statutory transition period. Critical entities must be identified by 17 July 2026; once notified, they must complete a risk assessment within 9 months, and the main resilience obligations apply 10 months after notification.

Other important remarks/notes

In addition to the general CER Act, Denmark has adopted sector-specific legislation for certain sectors, such as energy, banking, financial market infrastructure, and digital infrastructure, implementing the Directive's requirements for the entities concerned. Entities covered by such sector-specific legislation are excluded from the scope of the general CER Act to that extent.
