Global employment law insights: Key updates & actions

Keeping appraised of new legal developments and maintaining visibility of those on the horizon continues to be critical for those planning and managing a global workforce. Drawing on the significant experience and expertise of our teams of lawyers around the world assisting clients with all aspects of employment law, this Update provides an overview of some of the most significant legal developments that are shaping workforces.

Featured in this edition are recent developments in the areas of the use of non-compete clauses in employment, re-employment obligations on restructuring, collective rights, workplace safety and diversity and inclusion. Also highlighted are pay transparency developments in the EU and beyond, including ongoing measures by some Member States to implement the EU Pay Transparency Directive.

Large-scale reforms of employment laws have been seen in some jurisdictions this quarter, including in India where four major Labour Codes have been implemented. The significant reforms in the UK continue to work their way through the legislative process, and a reform in Egypt introduces a unified framework for managing both resignations and agreed terminations, aiming to enhance procedural clarity, safeguard employee rights, and avoid potential disputes.
